People Magazine has released the highly-anticipated Most Beautiful People 2010 issue which is currently available on newsstands. Estée Lauder brand has announced French model Constance Jablonski and Chinese model Liu Wen will be their newest global beauties. Both women will be featured in the global advertising campains which will debut June 2010. Other global beauties include, Hilary Rhoda, Carolyn Murphy, Elizabeth Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Akon Suing Former Partners over ‘Konvict’ Fragrance


Just last month we announced Akon had released a new fragrance through Konvict Cosmetics International. According to NYDailyNews, “The R&B rapper and music producer had talks with the fragrance developers but was stunned when they formed Konvict Cosmetics International and started selling the scent “Konvict” without his approval, the suit says.” Akon alleges perfume executives released the fragrance without his approval. The grammy-winning Artist has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Federal Court against his former business associates for using his name without his permission. Akon seeks to halt further production of the iillegitimate fragrance.

Mary J. Blige Teams up with Carol’s Daughter for a Good Cause


Mary J. Blige announced on the Oprah show her new charitable partnership with beauty brand Carol’s Daughter. On April 13th and 14th, Mary’s charity, the Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN) received 30 percent of all online sales from the Carol’s daughter website. According to Carol’s Daughters site, “In the early 1990’s, Brooklyn native Lisa Price (a.k.a. Carol’s daughter) began experimenting with fragrance, essential oils and natural moisturizers to make gifts for her family and friends. Soon after she packaged her home-spun creations, word spread like wildfire and the demand for her unparalleled hair and body care products led to a highly successful mail-order and web-based business. Within a few years, Carol’s Daughter counted celebrities like Jada Pinkett Smith, Mary J. Keeping Up with Airbrushing


Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, stars of the hit reality series “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami” shot a nude marketing campaign, photographed by Nick Saglimbeni, to promote their Miami-based boutique, Dash. The barely there ad features Khloe, Kourtney and two “Dash Dolls”. The four women are airbrushed in body paint and each woman bares a letter across their body to spell the name of the boutique. “Kourt and I came to Miami to revamp Dash, and that’s exactly what we did!” Khloe blogged. “We worked our little tushies off and were so excited about the store’s fab new makeover that we thought what better way to celebrate than by getting one of our own. Dash has never looked so good!”

Eva Longoria Debuting Fragrance in April


Eva Longoria is joining the ranks of the Hollywood elite who have used their superstar prowess to launch fragrance lines. Eva by Eva Longoria debuts April 2010 and has top notes of of citrus, neroli, bergamot tea and aldehydes. The heart notes include sheer jasmine, muguet, violet and freesia, and the scenes features base notes of skin musk, amber and sandalwood. “I never knew how complicated it was to create a unique scent that hasn’t already been done,” said Longoria to WWD. “But I enjoyed the process. [I wanted] to create my own fragrance that is light, fresh and unique. I think the scent of a woman is extremely sexy and this scent will prove that.”

Keri Hilson Is The New Spokesmodel for Avon’s Imari Fragrance


Keri Hilson the two-time Grammy nominee affectionately known by her friends and fans by the self-imposed stage name, “Miss Keri-Baby” will now be the face of Avon’s Imari fragrance. Hilson joins the ranks of Jennifer Hudson, Patrick Dempsey, Reese Witherspoon, and Zoe Saldana as a beauty ambassador. According to WWD, Hilson, “appeals to young, Twitter-savvy consumers and potential representative recruits.” Seems the company wants their Avon ladies younger and younger. Avon is also hoping to capitalize on social networking to spread the word about Hilson’s latest venture and possibly attract a younger demographic for the fragrance.

Dove Tackles Men’s Cosmetic Market With Facebook Campaign


Dove one of the leading beauty and health manufacturers has decided to step outside of the box and try targeting the male market to promote Dove’s line of male beauty products. Creative and practical, Dove decided to use a marketing campaign with the help of Facebook and other media outlets to reach as many male consumer as possible. Even more impressive they released a commercial that debuted during this years’ superbowl to attract an even larger audience. Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints has signed on as a spokesperson. Dove has an active Facebook page with over 113,000 fans of its Facebook page, and it uses the “Men+Care” mantra to push its men’s line of products.

Canturi, an Australian based jewelry company will launch their premiere fragrance, Canturi Eau de Parfum which is said to retail exclusively in the states ay NYC’s Bergdorf Goodman and at Canturi boutiques. The fragrance is available in 50ml, retailing for $95 and in 100ml for $140. The high-end fragrance features top notes of bergamot, mandarin leaves, neroli, rose damascene, night-blooming jasmine, iris, lily of the valley, white pepper, cardamom, patchouli, red cedar, oakmoss, amber, musk and vanilla.

Legendary fashion designer and icon Karl Lagerfeld has teamed up with Coca-Cola Light, collaborating to design a limited edition Coca-Cola bottle and packaging. The ad campaign features Coco Rocha dressed to the nine wearing signature fingerless gloves. The campaign was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld and available online beginning April 24th.
