Jessica Simpson & Friends Set to Star in VH1's " The Price of Beauty"

For all of you reality t.v. junkies be sure to tune into VH1 this March as former pop princess turned country singer and tabloid fixture Jessica Simpson embarks on a journey around the world with BFFs celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves and CaCee Cobb in tow. Airing March 15th at 10pm, "The Price of Beauty" catapults these three into countries around the world to get first-hand accounts of the standards of beauty, practices, and traditions in countries like Japan, Thailand, France, Brazil, Uganda, Morocco and India.

"Outward beauty is an easy thing to become obsessed with in our society," she said. "I haven't always had an inner confidence. I haven't always looked at my reflection and loved it, because there was always something I wanted to fix, because someone always looked better. This journey was about finding something that was beautiful inside of me and knowing that I own it. And it's unique and rare."

I'm uber excited to see this new series! I'm sure it will be chalked full of laughter and self discovery.

Skin Deep

Beauty is only skin deep, but it's very important that skin look as fresh and flawless as possible. We've all experienced major breakouts, blemishes and blotches. Over time caking makeup on the skin can truly wreak havoc, not to mention other factors like oil, sun damage, bacteria and dirt can truly damage pores. One of my favorite skincare lines on the market is the amazing Clarisonic! From the makers of Sonicare®, who completely revolutionized the oral care market, they are now tapping into the skin care market with Clarisonic. If you are looking for a skin cleanser that will leave your skin ageless, baby bottom soft, irresistably smooth and also reduces the appearance of pores, wrinkles and fine lines I highly recommend their two speed Clarisonic Classic cleanser.

What I really love about this product is it's inexpensive in comparsion to pricey chemical peels and abrasions and it's perfect for the skincare novice to use from the comfort of their own home! What's even more impressive is that makeup is removed six times more effectively than traditional cleansing methods. The Clarisonic Classic retails for $195.00 and includes a Cordless Clarisonic Classic
Charging Cradle, Sensitive Brush Head or Normal Brush Head and 1 oz. trial sizes of Refreshing Gel Cleanser, Gentle Hydro Cleanser and Nourishing Care Cleanser. It's offered in three colors, white, graphite gray and pink. I'm simply tickled pink to report they are a proud supporter of breast cancer research. For every purchase of the pink Clarisonic Classic they will donate proceeds to help fight breast cancer.

Clarisonic Classic in Graphite Gray

According to clarisonic.com:
Clarisonic is the sonic technology proven to gently yet effectively loosen dirt and oil to clear your pores. The Clarisonic Skin Cleansing Brush uses a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to clean, soften and smooth your skin. In just 60 seconds a day, the Clarisonic micro-massage action cleans more than twice as effectively as manual cleansing.

You can purchase Clarisonic Skin Care Systems products like brush heads, serums, and other cleansers online and at major retailers and spas.

Vampire Vixens

Hey Beauts! The Twilight, Vampire Diaries and True Blood phenomenon have taken the world by storm! Who knew vampires could be so hot? Most surprisingly is the impact these vampire-themed television shows and movie have on the beauty industry! From catwalks to the club "vampy" makeup looks are what's in right now.

Be careful, a "vampy" inspired makeup look can quickly go from sexy to spooky, the idea is not to look like Elvira! Less is more in this case. Remember beauts, its all about romanticizing and intensifying your look through colors like classic reds and deep berries. For those looking for a little drama I suggest pairing a smokey eye with a dark lip. Not sure what colors to use for a smokey eye? Don't fret, try grey, plum, or black. You can easily take away from your look by adding blush and heavy foundation, the idea is to have a pale canvas. The focus is merely on your eyes and lips, you want to look mysterious, mischevious and alluring.

To complete your look it's essential you rock a dark matte or creme lipstick. It's no secret I'm a die-hard fan of a red lip! My fave is and always will be MAC's Ruby Woo. I also suggest Estee Lauder's "Ultimate Red" and Nars' "Fire Down Below". If red is not your forte, try MAC's "Night Violet" or Sephora's Lip Attitude in Splendid Violet. Starlets like Rihanna, Katy Perry and Scarlett Johansson have been known to hit the red carpet with vamped-out looks.

Ladies, a new shade of lipstick might be just what you need to liven up your love life! Makeup monotony is so 2009 and vampy lipcolors may spark and interest and have your man biting at your neck in no time. (*Que the Dracula music*)
